Name of culture and etymology

Iakai: From The God Kai, 'Ia' is a prefix meaning creation, thus 'Iakai' = The creation of Kai.

Pelekai: From The God Kai, 'Pele' is a prefix meaning people, thus 'pelekai' = The people of Kai.

NaOLiSm(Religion and beliefs)

There was once a massive energy in space which got condensed and formed God: “Kai”. Kai was a powerful God who was capable of many things. He created a planet that he called “Rafa-Rafa”. But then He realized there was a void somewhere in Him. So He created 4 wives: Marina, Althea, Brisa and Edna each more beautiful than the other. Then Kai had a child with each one of these goddesses: Lababouch, Brock, Zephyr and Blaze. They grew up into strong men.

All four goddesses started fighting with each other so their sons got closer to Kai and benefit from His great powers. After some huge fights Kai found out about these competitions and got furious. He then turned his four wives into elements on “Rafa-Rafa”. Marina was turned into the boiling water which separated the continents from each other, everything she touches incinerated. Althea into the crystallized ground called Saronite when hit by the sun, glows and heat up the planet. Brisa, the humid wind, which comes from the boiling water, makes it possible to breathe and drink at the same time. Edna, the purple fire that when in use, generates cooling waves. But despite their punishments, these fallen goddesses continued fighting in many ways that are called “natural disasters”: Tsunamis, Earthquakes, Hurricanes, Volcanic Eruptions etc… Kai and His four sons lived in balance. But then Zephyr realized: the more he and his brothers spend time close to their father, the more they got empowered by His powers. He then thought, if all four of them plan an attack on Kai, they could possibly kill Him and take all His power for themselves. Zephyr told his brothers about his master plan and they waited for the right time to strike. The time came. All four of them together had just enough power to strike Kai with a deadly blow. But, before they could engage Him with a sneak attack, He surprised them himself by one. Chaos, wounds, blood, madness, was all part of this legendary warfare. Kai’s body was growing weak when the battle reached the end. He had no other choice but to drain the goddesses’ remaining powers. So He gathered all of His energy and sheltered in the core of Rafa-Rafa. The whole planet shivered as Lababouch, Brock, Zephyr and Blaze’s ashes withered into nothing.

A painting of the four Goddesses, PNaK style

•Kai remains in the core of Rafa-Rafa, resting from the outside world. To help him regain His powers, Pelekai offers Him the dead Pelekais’ hearts that they throw in The KaiHole. According to the eldest, the hearts of the dead Pelekai which contain their souls continue their path by going to Kai, where the God eats them for energy, and let the souls rest in peace.

•To honor the dead, Pelekai people throw the corpses in the boiling sea so they instantly turn to ash and spiritually be with them.

•The Pelekai believe one day Kai will return and infuse His people with His knowledge. XeYOs is an OYOs word the Pelekai repeat after they finish praying to Kai. It basically means "We are waiting".

•When a Pelebaby is born, his parents tame a baby LiZn (see LiZn, Nature ad environment) that the baby raises to ride when he grows up. Legends say that, if a person raises his LiZn perfectly, they connect, and become one soul. Indeed, they both share the same feelings and thoughts, and they die together at the same time.

PNak(Arts and painting)

The Iakai culture is known for its unique paintings. Generally, all paintings are abstract shapes, forms and landscapes. The dominant color is Gold and its hues, especially: White, Silver, Copper, etc… The Sun itself is found in almost all Iakaien paintings. File:Example.jpg

The Paint

The Pelekai get the paint from specific trees called “PArPOK”. Those trees are rare and very rare; they only grow next to the TLuLas trees (Pelekai’s habitat). The PArPOK trees are extremely long and thin trees: they reach the maximum height of 10 meters long and their diameter reaches no more than 10 centimeters. It is believed that the PArPOK tree has roots longer than 20 meters under saronite. This hypothesis explains why the trees do not fall down when hit by the mighty wind. PArPOK trees hold kinds of spheres (very similar to the coconut) that contain the paint that the Pelekai actually use. They are called "CaCaNaPS".

The Flag

The only color found in the Iakaien flag is Gold which is planet Rafa-Rafa’s essential color. The flag represents a simple sketch of the typical Iakaien sunset.

Philosophic Sketches

The continents of planet Rafa-Rafa are separated by boiling seas, which makes it impossible for the Pelekai to travel. So the other continents remain a mystery to the people. Many so-called Iakaien "philosophers" tried to imagine the rest of this planet. And the only way they could describe what they imagined was through drawings, paintings and sketches. The most known philosophic sketch is by HeNO SiNaNe, which represents the planet with the sun and the TLuLa tree.

TaFrAcOLi(Pelekai's Traditions)

Every Wednesday the Pelekai gather around the Kaihole and pray to Kai so He cleanses their bodies from the sins they committed. They thank Kai for giving them the gift of life with a song dedicated to him. At the end of the ceremony, to express their gratitude, the Pelekai gather the hearts of all the people that died the current week, and throw them in the KaiHole. To end the ritual, they say XeYOs .

Greetings and Valedictions

Many ways to say "Hello":

•To a close friend and to family: tickling each other's necks.

•To a lover: rubbing each other's noses.

•To someone older or someone respected: straightening the back and lifting the hands up to the level of the chest and leaving hanged this way for three to four seconds.

The way to say "Goodbye": Standing aside of the other, while holding hands behind the backs , and tickling them.

The woman chooses one of the four elements, (of the Goddesses), that she'll represent all of her life, then gives it to the man, whom represents the god Kai in the ceremony and for the rest of his life. If the man accepts the element from his woman, he'll kiss her right ear, if not he must pinch her left one. After the marriage, there will be a gathering of the two families to celebrate.

Clothes and Make-up

The clothes are made from the silver cliffs surrounding the boiling sea. The material is then delicately extracted and thinned, cleaned and transformed. Every person takes a part of this material and wears it and can add any accessory he/she likes to reflect his style. Women must wear colorful make-up, and must certainly focus it on their eyes. Make-up is extracted from the PArPOK trees that hold the spheres containing different colors of paint, that will be dried until its transformed into many kinds of powder, in order to use them in make-up. And powders are mixed to give some new, colorful and strange colors.

You insult someone by bumping roughly into him.

•When someone sees a violet diamond on the floor he should take it because it gives him good luck.

•When a fruit falls from a tree and cracks open, it gives the person looking at it bad luck.

•When someone tries to cut down a PArPOk tree, his soul is condemned into everlasting redemption when it's with Kai.

When someone wants to suicide he/she jumps into the boiling water.

Traditional dance

The dance represents the main characters of our religion. It involves a male adult representing God Kai, four women symbolizing the Goddesses and four young men acting as the sons of Kai. The moves are usually smooth and harmonious in the dance, reflecting the soft music used in it.

Physical activities

The Pelekai are obligated to run 1 mile twice a week if they are 4 to 8 years old,

2 miles if they are 9 to 13 years old,

4 miles if the are 14 to 27 years old,

and 6 miles if they are 28 to 33 years old,

after the age of 33 years old they are still obligated to run twice a week but they can choose from 2 to 6 miles The purpose of this rule is that they stay in shape and healthy so they can live long and prosper.

The MgOSiLiK is the Iakai style of music. It is used in all national ceremonies, and was originally made for religious celebrations so Kai will be pleased and the Pelekai will be able to enjoy their events.

It's a style created by two Pelekai who combined two terrestial music styles: the soft rock and the classical music followed by an additional Iakaien touch.

Pelekai's Food

The Iakai's 3 main meals are:

Puktuna: Named after one of the Pelekai's greatest inventor, the Puktuna is composed of a ball of fried ice cream covered with Iakai's secret ingredient flakes. When it comes out of the frier it is introduced and dipped in a melted sugar mix,and then finally decorated with red flower petals and leafs from our the TLuLas.

KiPNa: The KiPNa is the most ancient and most traditional dish in the Iakai culture, it is based on a layer of pancakes covered with a delicious dairy product known as Labneh, and some fresh thyme herbs from the beautiful prairies with a topping of juicy red tomato slices, it can also be decorated with some olives. Recently the KiPNa has also been transformed into a desert it is called the sweet KiPNa, this one has the same base but it is covered with peanut butter, sliced apples and chopped bananas.

BAlGa: It might be the most elegant dish in Iakai. The BAlGa is composed of a fig in which there's a delicate slice of NaCaLi( Iakai ham ) placed in a bed of basil and covered with a sheet of clear white feta cheese.

The Iakai have also a famous drink which is called ReRa. It is the tree sap of the TLuLas that tastes like a mix of lipnum lime juice, cripnum cranberry juice and with an optional topping of shredded basil or lemon zest.

Nature and Environment

Only one continent of planet Rafa-Rafa has been so far discovered. Scientists do not know what the other parts of the planet may contain. Only theories have been formulated to explain some mysterious facts. All of the following informations are only related to the one inhabited continent.

A glimpse of Rafa-Rafa

Planet Rafa-Rafa is very similar to planet Earth, yet very different. When Rafa-Rafa 1 and Rafa-Rafa 2 (space shuttles) encountered the planet, they noted continents separated by seas - just like Earth.

One of the many differences: the planet’s color.

Rafa-Rafa has a very unique color: Gold. Everything on this planet is the color of Gold or Gold’s hues - especially silver, light Gold, white and copper – even though there is no actual Gold (the metal) on the planet.

Another difference: the natural landforms and constitutions.

There are no mountains, hills, holes (except the KaiHole), or gulfs. It is a vast expanse.

Rafa-Rafa is made of “saronite”. Saronite is basically crystals reduced in powder and sand. What’s amazing about it is that it transfers the Sun’s light and lights up the whole surface. That’s why there are no actual nights.

The seas are made of boiling water. It is not possible to swim in it, to drink it or to even have any physical contact with it.

That’s why the humid air contains oxygen AND water. So you don’t have to literally drink water from a cup, since you inhale it.

Rafa-Rafa is a “hot” planet. To cool it down, fires are lit. Fire on this planet is the exact opposite of Earth’s fire. It’s a blue violet flame. It provides cold.

To make ice, Pelekai expose a flame to the humid wind; but only in certain areas, where the humid wind blows with all its might.

A new substance occurs with the contact of the boiling water and earth: Md (Mud). Is it useless for now, since Mankind did not find a way to get advantage of it.

The Pelekai live in hollow trees called TLuLAs. These trees grow by groups in humid areas. Their seed is planted in the saronite where it grows. When the TLuLA is fully grown, it reaches a height of 8 meters and a width of 10 meters. The TLuLAs are naturally hollow, When a Pelekai wants to make it his home, he must carve an entrance in it.

There are various plants on Rafa-Rafa. Strangely, they are not green plants (they do not contain chlorophyll). After many attempts of experiments, scientists still did not manage to discover the plants’ concept. It remains a mystery so far.

This is a list of the so far discovered plants:

• TLuLa: Hollow big trees where Pelekai live (read Habitat)

• PArPOK: Tall tree. It only grows next to the TLuLa.

• BeLi: Rafa-Rafa’s wheat plant. It has a circular tall trunk and you can find wheat on it.

• BeNaBa: Tomato. It grows on top of the BeLi surrounded by red petals.

• CaCaNaPS: Similar to the coconut. It grows on PArPOK and contains paint in the inner part and sugar in the upper part.

• BeBNa: A tree that bears bananas.

• POMd : A small bush sprouting apples. Inside the apples instead of seeds, lie peanuts.

Animals on this planet are similar to Earth’s animals. Scientists found that planet Rafa-Rafa’s animals are not edible. The Pelekai only eat what the animals provide except for the PArMg.

This is a list of the so far discovered animals:

• LiZn: giant lizards, used as transportation (see below).

• MgAlK: white cows. Provides milk to the Pelekai.

• FArNeK: blue flamed phoenix. It’s the only bird discovered so far.

• ErKrUY: small squirrels. They live in TLuLas’ leafs. They lay eggs which are eaten by the Pelekai.

• LiMg: wild lamas. The Pelekai let the herds run free in the wild, so no information are available on this animal.

• PArMg: pig. The only eatable animal on planet Rafa-Rafa. Provides ham.

LiZn (Transportation)

The Pelekai discovered a strange life form which followed them wherever they went. They called it the LiZn. The LiZn was the fastest creature they had ever seen, it was a reptile who's skin color varied from male(blue) to female(yellow) and during mating seasons they both turn into red. After a while the tribes were able to smartly capture one, then two, and suddenly there was a farm which tamed these wild creatures. They studied them, learned from them. The first human to ever ride one of them in Iakai's history is a man called CHAKNI PUTUNA. Soon after that, all the LiZns were trained and became the best transportation method. by Peter Constantin 07:15, 1 November 2012 (EDT)
